WorshipTeam
The worship group, along with others, was set up under the Old Kirk's unitary constitution to foster a spirit of inclusiveness in worship. It exists to assist the minister and, at his discretion and request, to be involved in aspects of worship planning and delivery and to make recommendations to the Kirk Session.
It liases with the minister, organist and choir concerning the use of different music forms in worship.
The team also endeavours to create and maintain an impetus for prayer outside normal worship hours, by way of a Prayer Chain; the distribution of the Church of Scotland publication ‘Pray Now’; and liaison with the Presbytery Prayer adviser.
The group is also responsible for ensuring that services are recorded for the housebound, that flowers are provided and the church decorated on appropriate occasions.
